Oklahoma Family Rehab Centers

Addiction that starts out small and seemingly innocent has the power to tear marriages and families apart. But there is always hope.

We live in a messy world, and sometimes life gets the best of us. When they’re feeling down, many people turn to drugs or alcohol to help them get through the pain, but these substances often end up causing more problems than they solve. Addiction that starts out small and seemingly innocent has the power to tear marriages and families apart. In many unfortunate instances, we even cross paths with single parents struggling to care for small children, while they themselves are dependent on chemical substances.

Fortunately, there is hope. While substance abuse is a major problem that affects millions of people directly and indirectly, it is also a preventable one. There are numerous support groups, non-profit organizations, and rehabilitation centers across Oklahoma to offer hope and help to those who find themselves caught in negative cycles of behavior. Some of these centers are regarded as the best drug rehabs in the Texoma area of Texas and Oklahoma.

For parents with small children, there are even family rehab centers available. Additionally, there are many Indian Behavioral Treatment Centers in Oklahoma for Native Americans. These unique centers treat parents who are dependent on chemical substances, while also caring for their children who are dependent on them. This allows families to stay together, and lightens the load on the social services system. A family rehab center in Texas or Oklahoma can be found easily by searching the Internet, talking to friends, family, or even a counselor. There are many people that are aware of the best drug rehabs in Texas and Oklahoma. Many of these centers operate as non-profit organizations, often faith based, and few turn away those who cannot afford to pay the program fees, especially women who are pregnant.

As a nation, we currently pay more than $100 million per day to incarcerate people who have serious drug and alcohol abuse problems. Many of these people struggled with depression as teenagers, but went untreated. (There are many treatment centers for depression for teenagers in Oklahoma to solve this problem.) However, after one year of treatment in a family rehab center, some clients showed a usage of their primary drug declining from 73% to 38%. This drug use continued to decline by more than 40% among women who received treatment, for as long as a year after completion of the program. (These statistics were provided by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, Columbia University, 1998.)

Further statistics show that family rehab treatment reduced illegal activity by 49% among respondents who supported themselves and their children by committing crimes. Clients receiving welfare also declined from 40% to 35% following treatment in a Texas or Oklahoma family rehab center. (These statistics were provided by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, 1997.)
